is a rare November 1965 playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the ROBERT DHERY, GERARD CALVI and HAROLD ROME musical flop "LA GROSSE VALISE" at the Shubert Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts. (The production would open December 14th, 1965
at the Fifty-Fourth Street Theatre in New York City
and close after only seven performances.) ..... The musical starred RONALD FRASER and VICTOR SPINETTI and featured GROSSO et MODO, FRANCE ARNELL, JOYCE JILLSON, GUY BERTIL, JOHN MAXIM and BRIGITTE VALADIN ..... CREDITS: Book by ROBERT DHERY; Music and Orchestrations by GERARD CALVI; Lyrics by HAROLD ROME ("Call Me Mister", "Fanny", "Pins and Needles", "Wish You Were Here", "Destry Rides Again", "I Can Get It For You Wholesale", "The Zulu and the Zayda");  Sets and Costumes designed by JACQUES DUPONT; Choreographed by COLETTE BROSSET; Directed by ROBERT DHERY; Produced by JOE KIPNESS and ARTHUR LESSER ..... DETAILS: The 58 page playbill measures 6" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers and bios of each of the leading actors and the director, but no cast photos ..... CONDITION: With the exception of light edge wear, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
