This is a rare March 28th, 1958 playbill from the two-night engagement of the Lon Morris College production of the ALYENE PORTER play "PAPA WAS A PREACHER" at San Jacinto High School and Mirabeau B. Lamar High School in Houston, Texas ..... Among the cast was ten-time Tony Award winner TOMMY TUNE who was a student at Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. Tune is the only person to win Tony Awards in the same categories ("Best Choreography" and "Best Direction") in consecutive years (1990 and 1991), and the first to win in four categories. He has won ten Tony Awards, including a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015 ..... In addition to TOMMY TUNE, the cast included LINDA WILSON, ROD BROWNING, CAROLYN BILLINGSLEY, RUBY HALL, ELMER BAXLEY, DAVID HINES and JERRY MANSEE (all shown in the photo in the third scanned image)
