Description
The Great Martyr George was born in the city of Belit (now Beirut). A strong and brave warrior, he became a favorite of the Emperor Diocletian(a successful ruler, but a cruel persecutor of Christians). Having learned how inhumanly the emperor exterminates believers, St. George tried to stop the injustice: he recognized himself as a Christian and spoke out against persecution and executions. The emperor ordered George to be captured and tortured - he patiently endured all the trials. In the end, not having achieved the rejection of Christ, Diocletian ordered the saint's head to be cut off with a sword. The Great Martyr George is called the Victorious for his courage and spiritual victory over the tormentors, as well as for his miraculous help to people in danger. The icon will be a great gift for a believer: a friend, colleague, business partner or relative whom you value and respect. The icon of St. George the Victorious, symbolizing strength and victory, will take its rightful place on the desktop, in the office or at home, and will contribute to maintaining a blissful atmosphere.
