    DRAGON WINGS SPACE SHUTTLE COLUMBIA (OV-102) WITH LANDING GEAR, RUNWAY, AND CLEAR DISPLAY CASE 1:400 SCALE DIECAST METAL MODEL.
    The Space Shuttle Orbital Vehicle was developed and operated by NASA as part of the Space Transportation System Program.  It is the first orbital human spacecraft designed for reusability.  The Space Shuttle Columbia (OV-102) is named after the first American ship to circumnavigate the world.  Columbia was the first orbiter to go into space and during her 22 years in service flew on 28 missions spending over 300 days in space, completing over 4000 Earth orbits. Tragically she was lost on re-entry from her final mission in February 2003.
    This very rare, brand new, never displayed, 1:400 scale Die-cast metal spacecraft model has an approximate length of 3 1/2 inches and is poised on the runway as if she has just landed after a mission with chase plane graphics in the background.  A clear plastic display cover is included and a plaque designating this as the 20th anniversary of the very first shuttle mission STS-1 (04/12-14/1981) is displayed on the front of the base.
