in the northeast

where it's far more common (and even that's fairly uncommon) to find

basketry made by one of any

eastern woodland,

indigenous
tribes,
with most being from coastal
Maine
(those which have survived.) This particular tightly woven basket features coiled construction and vertically stitched, bound sidewalls, has a broad, sturdy coiled top rim and very tightly woven baseplate. It practically doesn't suffer any loss to its top or bottom and only has a few very minor 'touches' to its sidewalls. With original matte, dry surfaces and naturally aged patina and colors. Very fine. Gorgeous.
