Condition: Excellent, no flaws other than one small repaired area on the right side of the emperor. I have included a closeup photo of the area, not sure if it even shows up on the picture, but I wanted the buyer to know. Slight crack in the rosewood, not unusual due to age on the reverse side of the Emperor, just to the right of the hanger. Does not go deep or extend to the front of the mask or compromise the integrity.

I purchased these masks in Canada, at antique and import store in 1976. They are rosewood, made in China. Beautiful masks, very detailed carving. They have been wrapped in tissue and stored in my smoke free home. They were displayed on a wall for about 10 years after purchase and have the original hooks. There is one minor repair on the Emperor mask, the thin headdress piece has been reglued, not noticeable. I have been told the eyes, and the dragons teeth on the Emperor's headdress are possibly alabaster. As a senior I am downsizing and will not be using these again. Hope they will go to someone who appreciates them. A wonderful pair, not usually found to purchase as a pair.
