Offered here is another beautiful hand-painted santo retablo of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, in a wood nicho, by my grandmother, Marie Romero Cash. She is a well-known Santera/folk artist born in Santa Fe, NM, and has been in Spanish Market for over 40 years. Her works are in major private and museum collections, which include The Smithsonian, the Museum of International Folk Art, Gene Autry Museum and others. She is known for having painted the Stations of the Cross for St. Francis Cathedral Basilica in Santa Fe, and also for St. Johns Methodist Church in Albuquerque. She has also created works for churches throughout Northern New Mexico, San Luis and Pueblo Colorado. This piece is signed and dated, hand painted in watercolors in a wood niche and measures 9x12x1". It has never been sold or displayed and is in mint condition, recently painted. Definitely one of a kind piece to add to your collection. Our Lady of Guadalupe is revered around the world and is considered to be the patroness of the Americas, of Mexico, of children, roses, etc.
