Description:
This is a nice very fine or much better banknote from the Netherlands. This is the 4 February 1943 issue Muntbiljetten or State Note 2 1/2 Gulden. The note shows the image of Queen Wilhelmina, in green, in the center of the front with the denomination, again within green, on either side of the image. The front which is entirely in green tones with an orange background also has the denomination in numerals at the four corners, a signature in green, the date with the words No. 2 under it in green, and the serial number stamped twice in red. The back is orange in color and shows the crowned arms of the Netherlands in the center and the denomination in letters at either side of the arms. the word NETHERLAND is prominently displayed on top. This banknote is well printed and nicely margined both on the front and back. This particular note has the serial number EA452111. The note has no watermark that we could find. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition:
I would grade the banknote as choice very fine or much better with all the details being well preserved. The note has three vertical folds, no horizontal folds, no additional creases and no split or tears. The note is clean with no stains and retains quite a bit of its original stiffness and crispiness. Its corners are squared and show no rounding. The edges are intact with no observable roughness. The note has no pinholes and no graffiti. The only thing we see is a a few blue and orange spots on the back, which we believe are artifacts of the printing process and original to the making of the note. The note is in nice original condition and would make a great addition to your collection of world banknotes. Please see scans for additional condition information.
