The picture doesn't reflect all of the beauty and gold glimmer.
Modern metallography and lithography technologies
were used to reproduce the icon,
making the details excellent of this particular icon.
Miraculous icon of the mother Of God, called "Bread"
, appeared in the XVI century in the Solovetsky monastery. In those years there lived a monk, the Holy Hierarch Philip of Moscow, whose secular name was Fedor Kolychev. This boyar, reaching 30 years, suddenly left the service of the sovereign, left Moscow and retired to the Solovetsky monastery. Hiding his name, Fyodor reverently carried obedience on a par with all the brethren.
The Abbot soon noted the zeal of a new novice, found it worthy to take the veil and gave it the name Philip is sent to work in the bakery. This work was hard for a noble man, but he patiently endured all the hardships with prayer and never complained of fatigue. Father Philip of the most pure Mother of God prayed with special trepidation.
In 1540, the Queen of Heaven showed him Her favor by sending down a miraculous Image. The novice did not want to part with the wonderful icon and therefore put it in the same place where he worked – in the bakery, next to the oven.
From that day on, all freshly baked bread and prosphora he prayerfully put before the icon of the virgin, asking Her to bless the sacred bread. And the guy who came to pick up the bread and communion bread, as it were, got them out of the hands of the Mother of God.
