Up for sale new old stock, Russian Folk balalaika with deep flame maple body upgrade. It is made by one of the best balalaika luthiers as well as "top tier" Tchaikovsky factory luthier — V.Zubchenko.
A little story about this instrument. It supposed to be a medium-priced 1st-grade instrument from the very beginning, but during the process, Zubchenko decided to use some "special" highly flamed maple for the body like on highest grade instruments, did some experimentation with the internal instrument construction and the number on "klepki" parts.
The balalaika has turned out an absolutely fantastic sounding instrument and it does sound as good as any concert grade Zubchenko instruments worth twice as much. The sound is full, loud, rich in overtones with a nice low end. If you don't want to spend a lot of the money on a concert grade balalaika but to get an exceptional sounding instrument - here's your chance to get one!

All instruments that we sell are chosen and selected by maestro Alexander Tsygankov himself (my dad, who is People's Artist of the Russian Federation and a professor at Gnesin's Academy of Music).
