Before I begin to describe my cello, let me tell you that this cello sounds better than Yo-Yo Ma’s Strads or Rostropovich’s. Selling Jay Haide Cello 4/4. It’s a Ruggieri model with a “L’Ancienne” finish. Made year 2019. Ruggieri models are the optimum cellos in my opinion because they are not as wide as the Montagnanas or too narrow as the Strads. It has a beautiful bass, not so thin as the Strads or too muddy like the Montagnanas. Sweet and warm high notes as well.
It has a fixed top. Check the pics. Damaged caused due to my daughters running around. Only noticeable at close distance. The cello sounds nicer after the repair. Just take a listen to the sound clip.
Purchased at Carriage House at Johnson String Instruments shortly before the pandemic.
This particular cello sounds better than most ,000 cellos. Not all
