    Description

This hand-held triangular shaped melody instrument is played with a bow. Extremely easy to play, the psaltery's haunting, ethereal tone is used effectively with chordal instruments or in solo playing. The instrument is set up like a piano with the white notes to the right and the sharps and flats to the left.  Most children and adults with very little musical experience can play simple tunes almost immediately.
This Alto bowed psaltery has 32 strings and is fully chromatic for 2 1/2 octaves. The lowest note is middle C. There are markers indicating the Cs and Gs. (see photo of tuning chart)
    Size is 26" x 9 1/2" x 1 3/4" (with pins 2 3/4") and weighs 3 to 3 1/2 lbs depending on the wood.
All solid wood construction. These instruments are not constructed of ply and are made entirely of solid hardwoods and quality tone woods giving you a beautiful sounding instrument! This size psaltery is still quite comfortable to play given your average arm length. Because of its fuller sound and greater range, this is my most popular model.
This bowed psaltery has a Cedar soundboard, Cherry back, Lacewood sides and pin block facing.
Made in the USA personally by James Jones
