Description
I'm currently listing a large number of playbills from out-of-town tryouts prior to the Broadway runs ....... This is a rare August 1981 "Stagebill" playbill from the Pre-Broadway engagement of the GEORGE M. COHAN musical "LITTLE JOHNNY JONES" at the Arie Crown Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. (The revival would open March 21st, 1982 at the Alvin Theatre in New York City and close the same night after only one performance.) ..... The musical starred DAVID CASSIDY (replaced out-of-town by DONNY OSMOND) and featured JACK BITTNER, MAUREEN BRENNAN, RANDALL EASTERBROOK, JANE GALLOWAY, ANNA McNEELY, ERNIE SABELLA and PETER VAN NORDEN ..... CREDITS: Book, Music and Lyrics by GEORGE M. COHAN; Adapted by ALFRED UHRY; Sets designed by ROBERT RANDOLPH; Costumes designed by DAVID TOSER; Choreographed by DAN SIRETTA; Directed by GERALD GUTIERREZ; Produced by STEVEN LEBER and DAVID KREBS ..... DETAILS: The 20 page playbill measures 5 5/8" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, list of musical numbers and bios of each of the leading actors and members of the creative team, but no cast photos ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a light vertical cease, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
