    Description

    Up for grabs is a beautiful attributed Miwok Basket.  It is 8" diameter X 3" height.    Has a scorched / burn mark - otherwise excellent condition.  I have read that one indigenous use of this basket type was to roast acorns, so I am wondering if this burned mark may have been the result.  Great proportions and simple zig-zag design with a small rectangle design which may be a signature?  I had the basket verified by an authority in the field after I acquired it 15-20 years ago.
