Description
ATmega8 Board w Temp Sensor & 16x2 LCDDR-Temp-Rdr-Log
ATmega8 Board with LM35 temperature sensor and 2x16 character LCD. Additional analog inputs make this board a good choice for sensor data logging applications.
ATmega8 Temperature Sensor Board Features
ATmega8 microcontroller in 28-pin DIP socket
2x16 character LCD
LM35 temperature sensor
5 additional analog inputs via male header
UART RX and TX signals available via male header. Allows you to connect to a PC via optional USB-to-serial cable or RS232-to-TTL module (see add-on options below).
On-board 5V voltage regulator
Power LED
ISP header
Sample code for interfacing to the temperature sensor and 2x16 LCD is available. However, you will have to write your own code to combine the sample routines, e.g. to poll the temperature sensor and display the temperature data on the LCD.
Programming
This board has a single-row, male ISP header for in-circuit programming of the microcontroller. Most AVR ISP programmers have a 2x10 or 2x6 pin ISP connector. To use such a programmer with this board, you will need an AVRISP adapter together with some prototyping wires to interface between your programmer and this board (see add-on options below). Alternatively you could make your own ISP adapter cable. We also offer a low-cost serial port AVR ISP programmer that has the matching 6-pin single row ISP connector
