    Description

This is an antique Catholic Church shadowbox, three-dimensional plaster sculpture of Jesus and the Last Supper.
The frame dates circa 1900s or 1910s, but when you look at the back of the piece, it feels even older.
The overall frame measures 16 1/4 inches tall x 13 1/4 inches wide (41.3 cm x 33.6 cm). The sculpture itself measures 11 1/4 inches tall x 8 1/4 inches wide (28.6 cm x 21 cm). The entire piece protrudes out from the wall 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm).
I am fairly certain this piece originally had a piece of glass covering it. I do believe though that it was destroyed many years ago, as the plaster has darkened quite a bit and there is embedded dirt in the crevices, mostly in the bottom section. There are a few small chipped off pieces, most notably the apostle with his left hand up in the air, where his fingers have chipped off. The rest are scattered dings.
The frame has nicking and other general wear to the finish.
The back is covered with some type of canvas and paper. At the bottom where the plaster is showing, some of it will still fall off a little.
It weighs 4 lbs. 11 oz. (2.1 to 4 kg).
