    Description

Really nice LC with low miles and good overall condition, add basic paint and bodywork and you will have an enviable fj62. If you’re looking for a solid, clean LC that’s worth a trip to the body shop, this one can be a real head turner at a fraction of the cost. I purchased this LC from an out of state insurance auction when looking for a beater to take on the beach, my thinking was I would get a better 4wd than available locally. When the LC arrived it way too nice for the beach and became a hobby-project, I like owning it (like art)but hope it finds more purpose with the next owner.
It was easy to find most of the parts I needed, except the replacement fender that may be the last new aftermarket unit in the world. The grill is temporarily attached as a test fit, all parts are present except aside light that is easily ordered. I’ve driven it less than 10 miles since receiving it in 2017, as far as I know there are not any big red flags.
It starts quick and runs well, better than I expected, surprisingly strong like a tractor, this is the last model that is basically a Japanese military vehicle. Battery was out for an extended time so it likely needs to drive a while to enable computer to relearn, new full size battery last month.
It was slow to start before I replaced fuel pump and filter (both OEM), pulling the tank was not fun but I didn't want to cut into the cargo area floor likesome do. The acid wash took several days, very clean inside now, filler flap is unstuck so fuel should not spill from gas cap when making turns (notice staining at gas filler area?).
When I received the LC there was fuel-oil stain on cargo carpet (chainsaw) and stickers-food-soda residue, looks like it was used on farm then handed down to haul grandkids for a year or two. I removed everything from the interior and spent days washing out the shell, steaming off window film, cleaning the seats, installing new carpet, even installed 4 new speakers and antenna, factory radio works but is a little scratchy. This LC interior is clean, feels clean, smells clean, seats are pretty good, headliner almost perfect, small cracks on dash, new carpet fit is about 99%.
Replaced the vacuum valves for 4WD, workswell in my yard and drive. Replaced front tires 5 miles ago, back tires haveabout 60%tread left. AC does not engage but looks like it was recharged by lastowner, I planned to strip it and the emissions out so have not worked on it,both are intact.
There is small areas of rust in the usual spots (snake blinders), chassis-frame is solid with only sporadic surface rust. Body filler on hood suggests previous owner liked to run into things.
The LC has a NC “salvage rebuilt” title, the last posting was taken down because eBay has a problem with a title being both salvage and rebuilt.  Insurance auction pictures are included to demonstrate that salvage title does not indicate serious or hidden damage. See Dropbox link for more pictures and related material.
One of the rear windows sticks when operated from driver's control, but not from the window's door control, maybe contacts need cleaning inside switch.
I pressure washed most of the undercarriage, lots of Georgia mud in my NC yard now. You can tow or drive it home, or I’ll load on transport provider you choose and pay. I have good seller feedback and several NC professional licenses that are easily verified. Ask any question and I’ll do my best to provide information.
If you win please be prepared to pay the 0 deposit to reimburse for my effort and cost of listing (0 each), after paying deposit you have a week to pay balance if you still want to move forward.
