for your auction pleasure. Painted in the High Renaissance tradition of the early 16th century, this artist approach much resembles that of Raphael. This gloriously detailed framed painting on tin measures 15" tall X 12 1/2" wide, fully framed.  un
framed, it is 14 1/4" X 10 1/4".
You note the ancient tin upon which this detailed & well executed work was painted.. Here is a masterfully accomplished retablo that goes way, way back there!!
The owner who collected this is artist, art professor & art historian Jill McKeever Furst, who taught at the Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia PA for over 10 years.
She also had strong connections to the Penn Museum, not only as a consulting scholar for acquisitions from 1987 on, but also as a frequent lecturer at Maya Weekends.  Often she bought museum de-
acquisitions, hence the superior quality of the artwork items we are listing on eBay at this time.
The artist of this artwork is unidentified.
The condition remains generally very good as shown, to be 130 years old or so.  Some surface oxidation is present which only adds to it's sense of antiquity.  The areas with the most surface oxidation & paint losses are clearly good detail images you see.  And thankfully there are not many flaws at all on the figure's clothing or face, as represented.  Really really well preserved indeed!
Black light inspection shows no in-painting.
Comes to you 100% original & uncleaned in any way...you note the vestiges of candle smoke from the years of prayer & devotion over the decades still present...

Shipping has been estimated.  Cost of bubble wrap, box(es), tape and other supplies have been added into the shipping & handling charges.  If the estimated shipping cost is in excess of the actual charge with supplies, I will issue you a refund.  However, we under estimate the actual shipping charge for the vast majority of the items that we ship.
I guarantee everything I sell unconditionally if you are not satisfied. I do, however, require that the item be returned in no more than 30 days following arrival and be returned in original condition. I also request that you notify me by email within 3 days of receipt of item. I do want you to be satisfied.
In the case of a return, we pay for shipping one way only.  All items are from a smoke free environment.
